A new report shows one of the biggest environmental issues in West Virginia is air pollution.
Story by Rontina McCann
The State Department of Environmental Protection released it's State of the Environment report at Smokey's on the Gorge in Fayette County on Tuesday.
The report shows water run-off and air pollution are two of the state's biggest problems.
But state officials are quick to respond.
"Certainly air quality remains an issue, but we're seeing great decreasing trends in air admissions that are being admitted into the environment lately," says DEP Secretary Stephanie Timmermeyer.
This is the second State of the Environment Report.
The first came in 2004. The next report is expected in 2008.
