One Dead, Two Injured After Accident on West Virginia Turnpike.

Police closed southbound lanes.

Mt. HOPE -- Both southbound lanes of the West Virginia Turnpike were closed late Tuesday after one person was killed in an accident near the Pax exit.

Police said a tractor-trailer driver from Alabama was killed in the wreck, which happened about 8 p.m. near the border between Fayette and Raleigh counties.

Officers said a car hit a logging truck and as the logging truck slowed, it was hit by the tractor-trailer

The driver of the car and logging truck both suffered minor injuries.

Police have not released the names of the victims.
