MORGANTOWN -- A West Virginia University organization is on a mission to help the homeless in Morgantown.

In fact, the group hits the streets to help them every two weeks.

Multidisciplinary UnSheltered Homeless Outreach of Morgantown -- or MUSHROOM -- formed two years ago.

Since then, it's made a difference.

Dr. David Deci has been working with West Virginia University med students and volunteers to provide food, clothes, blankets and even medical attention to those who need it.

By providing care and lending a hand, this group will continue its mission to help those who might be overlooked.

The group has received several awards for its efforts.

Deci and some of his students will go to Houston this week for an international conference to make a good program better.
