The fingerprint technology will be featured on CSI: New York.

Story by Jessica Lilly

BECKLEY- -- The future of forensics is getting a jump start right here in the Mountain State.

New fingerprinting technology was developed at Mountain State University.

Students have been working this for about two years.

With the guidance of their professor they have developed technology that helps to preserve and highlight fingerprints.

Professor David Weaver says the development stages started in 1989.

The fingerprinting device will be featured on an episode of CSI New York on May 14. They are launching the product in August.

Right now they are working on instructional videos to introduce the forensics technology to the world.
