The store says its Granville location has sunk five inches.

MORGANTOWN --

Target Corporation is suing the developers of the University Town Centre in Granville.

Target's $1 million lawsuit accuses Mountaineer Property of failing properly to prepare the site for construction.

It says its store started sinking shortly after it was built in 2005 and has sunk as much as five inches in the last three years.

Target claims it had an agreement with Mountaineer Property and that the developer was responsible for preparing a site that would not sink more than one inch.

If the site failed, Mountaineer Property would agree to correct the defects or pay for the cost of repairs.
