Donna Wamsley lost her daughter in March, 2008 due to an alcohol-related accident.

Story by Sarah Kapis

PHILIPPI --  Donna Wamsley put on a strong face, but at times she couldn't help but tear up.

Wamsley's daughter, Anna Wamsley, 17, died in an alcohol-related accident last March in Upshur County.

Three other teenagers from Buckhannon Upshur died in the accident as well.

On Friday, Wamsley bravely addressed a crowd of 11th and 12th grade students at Philip Barbour High School, warning them of the dangers of underage drinking and alcohol.

She described, in detail, the events leading up to her daughter's death and the effect it had on her family.

The event was sponsored by the Barbour County Sheriff's Department, the Alcohol Beverage and Control Administration and the Family Resource Network.

After the heartfelt speech, students lined up to thank Wamsley for her visit.

The FRN also signed up students for the Prom Promise, which is a pledge to stay alcohol-free at Prom.
