HUNTINGTON -- Local women volunteers get their hands dirty and handle tools and materials Saturday to work on the 68th Habitat for Humanity House.
The three bedroom, one-and-a-half bath house is located at 1920 Artisan Ave. The volunteers painted walls, trim and doors, along with laying tile and installating the kitchen.
The event is part of National Women Build Week, which challenges women to devote one day to the effort to eliminate poverty housing. The event is an anitiative of Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Program, underwritten by Lowe's, which brings women of backgrounds together to learn construction skills and use those skills to build decent, affordable housing.
