MORGANTOWN -- Students presented nano research Monday night during a poster session at the Erickson Alumni Center.

Nanotechnology involves producing devices on an extremely small scale.

West Virginia University's initiative focuses on science, engineering, research, work force, and economic development.

"We're trying to forge a regional collaboration to increase our presence in the nano science and engineering area," says Interim WVNano Director Dave Lederman.

"We're hoping to make WVU a leader in this field," says Lederman.

The symposium is a pilot program.

Organizers say they hope to form new regional alliances to further the initiative.
