He's been on the run for almost a week, but now officials are bringing in government help to find 55 year-old James Manganelli.

By Nate Fluharty

Marshall County, WV  -- We first told you about James Manganelli and his run-ins with law enforcement years ago.

One week ago Manganelli crossed the line when he allegedly broke into a Cameron man's house and almost killed him. Manganelli fled the scene and has been on the run since.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department waisted no time trying to track him down citing his previous attempts at fleeing from police after he set a Cameron business on fire.

The 55 year-old Cameron man was federally convicted on that charge and served his time.

This latest assault case put the homeowner in the hospital after Manganelli allegedly ran out of bullets and began pistol whipping him. That man is now out out of the hospital and is recuperating.

Today the search has been taken up a notch as the Marshall County Sheriff's Department has now called in the United States Marshall's Office to help search for Manganelli.

Manganelli is still considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.

Investigators still warn that if you see him or know his whereabouts *not to approach him and call deputies immediately at 304-843-5422.

We'll continue to keep you updated on the search.
