PHILIPPI -- A little bit of rain and thunder didn't stop golfers in Barbour County Saturday.

Forty people teed off at the Barbour Country Club Saturday morning for the 4th annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament.

Teams of four played 19 sponsored holes to raise money for scholarships that benefit students at Philip Barbour High School.

The Chamber of Commerce says the tournament grows each year and goes towards a good cause.

"We feel that our kids need this chance to go to college and definitely need this experience," says Chamber President Jerry Edens.

"We hope to be a vital part of their lives after they finish college," says Edens.

The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce is the smallest chamber in the state but they've been working to award college scholarships since 1993.
