BRIDGEPORT --  Dominion Exploration & Production is hosting the 14th annual Dominion Invitational Charity Golf Tournament at the Pete Dye Country Club in Bridgeport.

Nearly 75 golfers teed off on Monday morning.

Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers of energy and serves retail energy customers in 12 states, officials said.

Last year the event raised more than $125,000 and benefitted a number of charitable organizations across north central West Virginia including: Health Access, the Clarksburg Mission, Special Olympics and more.

Sixteen agencies will reap the benefits of this year's tournament. In the past thirteen years, the event has raised over $1.3 million, officials said.

"How can you say enough about Dominion and what they've done for our community. This is our way to help Dominion help the community," said participant Thomas Dunn.

There is no word yet on the amount of money raised at this year's tournament.
