HUNTINGTON -- A man on a bicycle is injured after being hit by a car in Huntington Wednesday Afternoon.

According to Huntington Police the man was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on 8th Avenue and 20th Street, when he veered into traffic.

A woman driving a green Chrysler sedan was making a left turn on a green arrow and struck the man on the bike. Witnesses say the driver of the Chrysler was following all traffic signals when she struck the victim.

The man, who has not been identified, has been taking to a Huntington Hospital with unknown injuries. The injuries, however, do not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver was not cited for any wrongdoing in the crash.

The driver could have been following traffic signals and still been at fault, depending on the direction of travel of the cyclist and where he was hit in the road. For example had the cyclist entered the intersection on a green light and failed to clear it before the light changed the driver would have been at fault for failure to yield right of way. Remember, just because you have a green light doesn't mean you can go without looking.
