HUNTINGTON -- Parents in Cabell County are being given the choice as to whether their children can watch President Barack Obama's student address tomorrow while at school.
Brian Hoey says he doesn't understand why there is such a controversy over the speech.
He says historically other presidents have addressed school children without the problems being experienced now.
Hoey says he is concerned about how polarized the two sides have become in the political landscape in this country.
"I think this is really worrisome that we have lost the ability to communicate in a thoughtful and respectful way and that is a problem."
Parents in Cabell County must present a written excuse for their children to not to see the speech.
