Wheeling, WV -- Another case of the H1 N1 virus has been confirmed in the Ohio Valley.
Officials at Wheeling Jesuit University confirmed that a case has been identified.
It is unclear if it is a student or faculty member that has the virus, but proper steps are being taken to ensure it doesn't spread, according to university officials.
“We want to keep the parents of our students informed," said Davitt McAteer, interim president of the university. "Letters were sent to families this week indicating our plan for dealing with this pandemic and asking for their assistance in encouraging students sick with the flu to recover at home whenever possible.”
For now, the university is urging members of the campus community to be aggressive in their vigilance of hygienic practices and to self-isolate at the first sign of flu symptoms.
Officials continue to stress that if a student is experiencing flu-like symptoms they should e-mail school health officials at iamsick@wju.edu.
