MORGANTOWN -- Some women in Morgantown have put on their hard hats and have almost finished constructing a building in Chelsea Square.

West Virginia Women Work teaches women carpentry, electrical work, drywall, roofing, welding, and other trades.

It also teaches resume writing, job hunting, and communication skills.

It has about a 90-percent success rate in finding women entry level construction jobs.

"I love working with my hands and love being outside," said participant Nikki Shelley.

"Doing this stuff is better then sitting at a desk job, I think and I really just wanted the knowledge of it," said Shelley.

The organization is recruiting for its spring class and selling the completed building.
