The congressman would not make any predictions on the senate vote.

ATHENS --  Congressman Nick Rahall was among the many democrats who voted in favor of the Affordable Health Care for America Act.

Rahall hosted five town hall meetings in southern West Virginia collecting input from residents on health care reform.

The congressman says most felt healthcare in general and insurance costs are out of control.

Rahall says those who manage to pay for it, pay far more than they should, in part because of those who can't afford it.

He was happy with the outcome of this weekend's vote.

"The rationing we've had today by the health insurance industry has not worked for our American people. Health care costs continue to skyrocket. This legislation is finally going to get under control healthy care costs to both the families and our overall economy," Rep. Nick Rahall, (D) Third Congressional District.

Rahall would not give any predictions on how he thought the legislation would fare in the senate.
