Drivers are asked to watch for lane closures.

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. --  Paving on Winchester Avenue in Ashland and on U.S. Route 60 near Summit is expected to impact traffic along the Boyd County routes next week, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Resurfacing on northbound U.S. Route 23 in Ashland, Ky. is scheduled for 12th Street to Seventh Street downtown beginning about 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, if weather permits.

One lane will be closed during construction, which is expected to last until about 5 p.m.

Road work will affect local street traffic and parking at times.

On Route 60 at Summit, road work is scheduled to take place near the state Route 716 intersection Monday afternoon and Tuesday, Nov. 17. Motorists should watch for intermittent lane closures, transportation officials said.

Construction schedules are dependent upon weather conditions. During work hours, motorists should “Drive Smart” in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment at all times.
