MORGANTOWN -- The Literacy Volunteers of Monongalia County are giving Santa a helping hand this holiday season.
Anyone can request a letter from Santa up through Dec. 7.
This is the seventh year for the program, and hundreds of letters have reached kids throughout Monongalia and Preston counties, and even across the country.
"It's growing," said Vicki Conner, the director of the group's board. "Last year, we were a little worried because of the economy and we actually sent out 500 letters."
The personalized letters cost $5 each. All of the proceeds help the volunteers tutor students at all levels in reading and English.
To request a letter, call 304-296-3400.
