CHARLESTON --  A West Virginia Teachers' Union is making an endorsement in next year's Kanawha County state Senate race.

The West Virginia American Federation of Teachers is endorsing former South Charleston Mayor Richie Robb.

Robb has filed pre-candidacy papers, however candidates will officially begin filing for the May primary in January.

Currently, Erik Wells and Brooks McCabe, both D-Kanawha, represent West Virginia's 8th Senatorial District.
