According to a news release from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, two people were arrested for drug trafficking Friday.

On Friday, Feb. 5, at approximately 11:07 a.m., the Scioto County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Gayle T. Schieser, 44, and Charmaine M. Schieser, 39, located at 2172 Hackworth Hill Road, Otway, Ohio.

Upon a search of the residence, Detectives seized prescription Oxycodone and Alprazolam pills that had been prescribed in the state of Florida, three loaded firearms, and approximately $10,000 cash.

Gayle Schieser was arrested and charged with one count of Trafficking in Drugs (Oxycodone), a Felony of the 4th degree.

Charmaine Schieser was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Portsmouth Municipal Court for failing to appear for a Domestic Violence diversion program.

The Schiesers were placed in the Scioto County Jail and were arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday at 9 a.m.

Gayle Schieser is being held on a $5,000 bond, while Charmaine Schieser is being held on a $30,000 bond.

Cases against both Gayle and Charmaine Schieser will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional drug-related and/or criminal charges.
