A man was killed Monday while attempting repairs on his truck in Mercer County.
West Virginia State Troopers say Gary Landis, 61, of Given was killed on the West Virginia Turnpike Monday after being hit by his own truck.
The accident happened near mile marker 19 on the Turnpike.
Landis was working on his truck at around 5:30 p.m., according to the West Virginia State Police.
He was apparently attempting to fix the brakes on the rear axle of the tractor. That is when the truck lurched forward and trapped the Landis. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
