Complaints About Slow Market Street Bridge Progress Heard
Posted Friday, March 12, 2010 ; 04:11 AM | View Comments | Post Comment

Residents are complaining about the lack of work being done on the Market Street Bridge, closed to the public since January, and one lawmaker is listening.

FOLLANSBEE -- Many believe that the progress on the Market Street Bridge isn't going along fast enough. That complaint has caught the attention of West Virginia Delegate Tim Ennis.

He is expressing extreme disappointment at the lack of work being done on the over a century-old structure. He said, "For several weeks I have been extremely disappointed in the lack of work on the bridge, all the while the bridge remains closed to the traveling public".

The bridge has been closed since January 2010 and Ennis is asking the multimillion dollar restoration and painting project be monitored to ensure all efforts are being made to have the work done in a timely manner. Work is scheduled to wrap up next fall.

Are people really complaining about the 5 minute detour?? they shouldn't be complaining because they could've just shut it down all together... so just give them the time they need & told us they needed!!
