A Winfield company has been named a giant in its field.

Innovative Mattress Solutions, which does business as Mattress Warehouse and Sleep Outfitters, was named a Retail Giant of Bedding during the Fifth Annual Bedding Conference in Orlando, Fla., according to a news release from the company.

Founder and CEO Kim Knopf, who started the company when she was 23, was recognized for her work.

“Kim Knopf’s story is an inspiring example of what can be accomplished through hard work and unswerving dedication to her mission,” Furniture/Today Executive Editor David Perry said in a news release. He presented the award to Innovative Mattress Solutions. “Today the brands in the Innovative Mattress Solutions stable – Mattress Warehouse and Sleep Outfitters – together give the company a strong regional presence in the mattress industry.”

Innovative Mattress Solutions has retail stores in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Furniture/Today, a furniture industry publication that hosts the Bedding Conference, recognized Innovative Mattress Solutions for its approach to the business.

“This is a well-run company, and one that is smart to emphasize the roles played by Kim and her daughter, Karrie,” Perry said in the news release. “The mattress customer is a female customer, and by presenting a female face to the public, Innovative Mattress Solutions connects with its customers.”
