W.Va. Roads Group Has Annual Conference in Charleston

A road improvement advocacy group is hosting their annual conference in Charleston Monday.

More than 130 people are expected at the West Virginians for Better Roads conference at the Embassy Suites Hotel. This is the group's third annual meeting, and is aimed at giving those in attendance information about transportation issues and the outlook for funding, according to a news release from the organization.

The conference will U.S. Reps. Shelley Moore Capito and David McKinley, both R-W.Va., and Rep. Nick Joe Rahall, D-W.Va. are scheduled to speak at the event. Rahall is the ranking minority member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Capito is a member.

State Transportation Secretary Paul Mattox is also among those scheduled to speak during the conference, according to the news release.
