Activities and achievements: This student body president also is involved with his high school's debate club, the pep club, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Future Business Leaders of America. He's co-captain of the golf team and holds down a part-time job. Jesse's volunteer work includes reading to children in the Energy Express program, serving as a Little League basketball coach, helping renovate sports facilities at Peterstown Middle School and providing meals to elderly people through his church. He also received the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission's Sportsmanship Award.

Plans: After earning a degree in special education or social work at West Virginia University or Concord University, Jesse plans to get a master's degree in social work. He would like to serve in the Peace Corps after college and then return to Monroe County to work in the nonprofit sector.
