Activities and achievements: Matthew co-founded Ripley High's West Virginia Adventure Club, which plans skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor adventure trips for students. Selected as science student of the year in both physics and chemistry, this National Honor Society member tutors other students in the sciences, and he's a member of the science bowl and academic quiz bowl teams. Matthew plays soccer and runs track, lettering in both sports.   

Plans: Matthew, who enjoys traveling, is looking at four-year colleges with the intent to spend some time studying abroad. His aptitude in science is leading him to major in engineering, and he plans to continue studying Spanish.
