Activities and achievements: In addition to working after school at the Barbour County Board of Education, Stephen is a member of the baseball and swim teams and Hi-Y. He is drum major with the band, student council vice president and a peer mentor at his school. He also volunteers for several organizations, including AngelFood Ministries, the American Red Cross and the annual MagiTree holiday toy drive. He was selected to attend the American Legion Mountaineer Boys State and the Governor's Honors Academy. 

Plans: Stephen, who always has been interested in history, developed aspirations to attend law school after taking an Advanced Placement class on government. He hopes to study political science at West Virginia University as an undergraduate.
