BECKLEY (AP) — Mountain State University's Board of
Trustees plans to name an interim president in April and begin a search
later this year for a permanent leader.
Jerry Ice has been serving
as acting president since the board fired former President Charles Polk
in January in the wake of accreditation issues.
The Register-Herald reports that Ice sent a mass email last week to faculty, staff and students concerning the president's position.
Ice's
email says an interim president will be named in April and take office
at that time. A national search firm will help identify presidential
candidates later this year. A new president is expected to be named in
mid to late 2013.
