A meeting of the Independent Oil and Gas Association will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, with a number of presentations regarding the growing industry.

The bulk of Tuesday's agenda at IOGA West Virginia Winter Meeting at the Charleston Town Marriott will include technical sessions, but two receptions will also be held Tuesday evening. One is a reception for donors to GOPac, a political fundraiser for the gas and oil industry in West Virginia. The other is for IOGA members and legislators.

Wednesday, IOGA's conference will begin with a breakfast and keynote address from Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin. A panel of the state's oil and gas CEO's to discuss their 2012 business plans will include the top officers of CONSOL Energy, Antero Resources, EQT and Noble Energy.

Also on Tuesday, there will be presentations given on the National Petroleum Council's study of supply and demand, Appalachian's shale relative to overall U.S. energy and water management issues.

The event concludes with a membership reception and banquet as well as a reward show and entertainment.

IOGA was formed in 1959 and represents companies and individuals who support the extractive industry.

There are two major industry groups representing oil and gas in West Virginia, IOGA and the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association.
