The Marcellus to Manufacturing Committee is excited to announce that Jay Timmons, president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, will be a keynote speaker for the upcoming 2012 Marcellus to Manufacturing, or M2M, ethane development conference.

The conference is scheduled for March 21-22 at the Charleston Civic Center.

As the 2012 M2M Ethane Development Conference chairman, I can say partnering with the WV Construction & Design Expo gives the first M2M Conference great exposure. We felt it was a perfect time to work together to showcase West Virginia and educate those who may be in a position to help with efforts to attract new manufacturing facilities and, in turn, more jobs to our state.

Jay Timmons assumed the position as president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers in January 2011. Timmons has extensive experience in government relations and business and has led NAM in working with the nation's leading manufacturers in advancing manufacturing opportunities in America.

The 2012 Marcellus to Manufacturing Conference is an important event for individuals both in the public and private sector to give attendees useful information and the ability to network with individuals who can assist in business opportunities and investment potential over the next decade.

This is the perfect time to bring together individuals who can bring to fruition the much needed information, education and expertise to move this initiative to the next level for West Virginia. The potential for our state from the development of the Marcellus and Utica shales is the greatest opportunity in our lifetime to increase manufacturing jobs in our region.

Simply stated, this opportunity is both phenomenally large and generational.

Information can be obtained, including exhibit booths, conference schedules, as well as registration information, at www.wvma.com or by calling Patty Barnhart at the West Virginia Manufacturers Association Office at 304-342-2123.

Fred Clark is the corporate secretary and CEO of IVS Hydro Inc. and the 2012 M2M Ethane Development Conference chairman.
