Harpers Ferry National Historical Park will host the 150th Civil War Commemorative event, Stonewall Stopped: Jackson's 1862 Valley Campaign, on May 26-27. The two-day event will focus on General Rufus
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park will host the 150th Civil War Commemorative event, Stonewall Stopped: Jackson's 1862 Valley Campaign, on May 26-27.
The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra's Montclaire String
Quartet will have its "Heart and Soul" concert at 3 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Erma
Byrd Gallery on the University of Charleston campus.
The performance includes Rachmaninov: String Quartet No.1,
Barber: String Quartet in B minor, Op.11 and
Dvorák: Quartet in E flat major, Op.51.
Tickets start at $12 for adults and $6 for students.
Upcoming events are New World Symphony on March 2-3, WVSO
Presents: Pam Tillis on March 16-17, The Music of Queen on April 13-14 and
Tchaikovsky 4 on May 4-5.
The WVSO is also conducting the McClaugherty Raffle with the
drawing at 5:30 p.m. March 6.
Tickets are $100 each and only 1,000 are available. The
grand prize is $10,000, with additional cash and tangible prizes including
trips, jewelry and more. All ticket buyers can mark their
calendars for the prize drawing party in the Art Gallery at the Clay Center.
There will be a prize drawing every five minutes leading up to the grand prize
giveaway.
