Harpers Ferry National Historical Park will host the 150th Civil War Commemorative event, Stonewall Stopped: Jackson's 1862 Valley Campaign, on May 26-27. The two-day event will focus on General Rufus
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park will host the 150th Civil War Commemorative event, Stonewall Stopped: Jackson's 1862 Valley Campaign, on May 26-27.
The Gardner Winter Music Festival will take place Feb. 24-25 at South Middle School in Morgantown.
The festival showcases traditional Appalachian acoustic music performed by musicians from West Virginia and surrounding states. In addition to providing on-stage performances, players also "jam" with each other, teach workshops and share ideas.
The late Worley Gardner started the festival 23 years ago, and his late wife Margaret Gardner continued it. The event continues as a tribute to them both.
Hours are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 24 and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 25. The festival also will feature a square dance, which begins at 8 p.m. Feb. 25.
