Neurologist and epilepsy specialist Sona Shah has joined the medical staffs of the Epilepsy Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine to provide care for patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.

Shah serves as Director of the Epilepsy Center at Cabell Huntington Hospital, where she oversees the region's first center staffed by specialists in the field of epilepsy. Patients are monitored in one of the center's four specially equipped rooms with equipment that relays electrical activity in the brain to a trained team of epilepsy specialists.

Shah completed her neurology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., as well as fellowships in neurophysiology and epilepsy at the University of Chicago. She is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy monitoring and neuromuscular medicine.

Cabell Huntington Hospital is a 313-bed academic medical center located in Huntington, West Virginia. Cabell Huntington cares for patients from more than 29 counties throughout West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio. Opened in 1956, it is a teaching hospital and is affiliated with Marshall University Schools of Medicine and Nursing.
