Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has appointed Mark Matkovich as Acting State Tax Commissioner.
The National Federation of Independent Business last week named Rep. David McKinley, D-W.Va., a Guardian of Small Business because of his voting record in the 112th Congress, according to a news release from the NFIB.
NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner said McKinley was "doing big things for small business," according to the news release.
"Small business owners pay close attention to how their lawmakers vote on the issues affecting their businesses and employees and stand by those who stand for them," Danner said in a news release. "This record shows that Rep. McKinley is a true champion of small business, having stood strong on the key small business votes in the 112th Congress."
The NFIB presented 245 Guardian awards to Representatives who voted favorably on key small business issues at least 70 percent of the time during the 112th Congress. The information the group used to select its award winners is listed at NFIB.com/hcv.
