Glenville, WV – How fast do you think you can run while being chased by a hoard of zombies? In the spirit of Halloween, the 2012 Glenville State College Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5K will be an opportunity to prove what you are really made of while having fun along the way.

 

"We encourage all the runners and walkers to dress up in Halloween costumes for this Fun Run 5K," said Shank Harkelroad, event director and Glenville State Fitness Center director.

The race begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 in downtown Glenville. Early registration is $15 and $20 after October 15. Registration also will be open the race beginning at 8 a.m. in the Glenville City Square Park. All who pre-register will receive a free T-shirt and those wearing a costume will receive $5 off their registration fee.

 

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as for the top two finishers in each age bracket.

 

All participants are also invited to attend the 2012 Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. following the race and to support the GSC Pioneers as they face-off with the University of Charleston Golden Eagles at 1:30 p.m. at GSC Morris Stadium.

 

The 2012 GSC Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5K is presented and sponsored by the GSC Fitness Center, GSC Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild student organization, and the GSC Women's Basketball Team. 'Like' Pioneer Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5k on Facebook to keep up-to-date on the race.
