Country Roads Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of Fairmont opened its fourth office Jan. 4 in Wheeling.

The newest office will be at 2080 National Road in Elm Grove, just off Interstates 70 and 470.

"We are pleased to continue the growth of our company and bring our one-on-one philosophy and progressive treatments to the Wheeling area," said Michael Barkley, who co-owns the company with Derek Falkenstein.

"We're committed to providing quality physical therapy and rehabilitative care with a hands-on, manual therapy focus," Barkley said. "We look forward to sharing our skills with new patients in the Wheeling area."

Kevin Perris will be the director and primary therapist at the new location. He and Barkley are both graduates of Wheeling Jesuit University's physical therapy program, and Perris lived in Wheeling for 10 years.

Perris is certified in dry needling. He also is certified in mechanical diagnosis and therapy, MDT, or the McKenzie Method.

"We're committed to staying on the cutting edge of progressive therapies that can help our patients return to normal life as quickly as possible," Barkley said. "For example, we're among the minority of physical therapists that are certified in dry needling techniques, which alleviate muscle pain caused by trigger points or knots. Eliminating that pain helps restore normal movement, allowing people to return to everyday activities they may be avoiding."

Country Roads currently has two locations in Fairmont and one in Buckhannon.

The new location on National Road will initially be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with plans to add evening hours in the near future.
